The Bible clearly records that King Saul was a dishonorable king, rejected by God, full of envy, wrath, jealousy, pride and participating in witchcraft.  Yet, at his death we read of honor given him by the valiant men of Jabesh-Gilead and by King David and his mighty men.  Why?  Why such honor given to a rejected king?  Why so much risk and so much mourning for one who betrayed the covenant of God?
