Noted African-American, Professor, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., was recently arrested by a white policeman for disorderly conduct. Gates had entered his home when the officer arrived to investigate a report of an attempted break-in. What ensued has brought to the forefront what most Blacks cope with daily, the possibility of being racially profiled by police and others in authority. But is this the lesson we should take from this incident or are there more important lessons that can be learned?
