The Apostle Paul warns the Church that they should not be ignorant concerning spiritual gifts. Indeed many spiritual gifts are named in the Bible including gifts of faith, healing, prophecy and tongues. But in a world under the influence of Satanic forces these gifts are often misunderstood and perverted. Perhaps none so misunderstood as speaking in tongues. Many in the Christian Church profess that speaking in tongues is prayer in secret code between them and God that Satan cannot understand, they say that it is the tongue of angels and that only those filled with the Holy Spirit are capable of performing this gift.
