A recent article posted in the Love & Relationships section on MSN.com compaired the divorce rates for sates in the Bible Belt verses those of typically more liberal northern states.  According to data from The Census Bureau, marriage and divorce rates are higher in the south than the north.  The article suggests, “Values about premarital sex associated with the Bible Belt and rural America may be encouraging people to marry early, at ages when they are likely to have less education and less income to support a long-lasting marriage.”  Some of the reasons listed for lower divorce rates in some northeast states are: people waiting longer to get married because they are pursuing a career, "testing the waters more." and premarital sex being less stigmatized.  So, what does the Bible say about marriage and divorce?
