On May 9, 2012, President, Barak Obama, became the first United States President to openly support Same-Sex Marriage.  This announcement came on the heels of an interview with Vice-President, Joe Biden, where he also spoke in support of Same-Sex Marriage.  Same-Sex marriage is one of the most controversial topics of this election season.  With the President’s announcement, the controversy went into “high gear”.  People from all walks of life from barbers to boxers have weighed in on this subject.  But why have all the controversy?  Is it for obvious reasons?  Or are there underlying purposes and motives.  Political gain maybe?  We’ll discuss the Presidents support of Same-Sex marriage.  Also, how LBGT endeavors have evolved over the decades and what may result from these endeavors in the next five to ten or twenty years.
