Tonight, we are deviating just a bit from our usual show format in a couple of ways. First, while we acknowledge that musically, the focus of our show has been and continues to be essentially Classic Rock, traditional Metal, and related genres, tonight’s topic came out of conversations around a well-known rap artist named DMX, who recently overdosed and died of medical damage inflicted by the O.D. His situation has raised a bigger question with many people about how things got to this point, and perhaps either how to break the pattern, or how best to cope with things if you (or the addict) cannot do so. Second, we may discuss this topic tonight in a more extempore fashion, rather than the usual format we use. Hopefully, this will give our listeners a chance to consider a lot of points that come up in similar situations.
