Sinopsis
On Nov. 2, 1954, a 250-watt radio station signed on in Alberta, destined to become Canada's first full-time country music station. The C and the W in CFCW stood for Camrose-Wetaskiwin, which were encompassed in its 25-mile broadcasting radius. Now associated with Edmonton, as much as its rural listening stronghold, Alberta's Country Legend is celebrating 70 years, defying those that would assert that AM radio's best days are behind it.Longtime program director Jackie Rae Greening and creative writer Jo-Anne Christensen, the author of a new book documenting the station's history, join this episode of Broadcast Dialogue - The Podcast, coming off a win for Station of the Year (Large Market) at the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
