Today I had the pleasure of talking to my first candidate for the 2024 election season, Alex Avina. He's been a substitute teacher, teacher and administrator and after 25 years in education has decided to run for the Calexico Unified School District Board of Trustees. After working for a couple of years in the El Centro Elementary School District and seeing all 4 of his kids go through the Calexico Unified School District educational system he's decided to run for Board of Trustees.
