It's important to note that on the day Jack Eichel returned to the Buffalo Sabres lineup, the Philadelphia Flyers took the Alex Winter-lookalike on an excellent adventure, repeating yesterday's history with a convincing 3-0 win. Carter Hart got credit for the shutout in this one, stopping all 28 pucks directed towards him on Sunday afternoon, while Philly potted all three of its goals in a 21-shot second period en route to a blanking of Buffalo. Sean Couturier finished off a great play he started in the neutral zone by putting home a loose puck on in the paint to get things started, Michael Raffl got a stick on a nice point shot from Robert Hagg for the second, and James van Riemsdyk netted his tenth of the year on a beautiful deflection off a Joel Farabee shot/pass. It was another solid, necessary performance from the orange and black, dominating a team they should dominate to close out a 3-0 stretch against awful teams based in New York.
