Wake Up The Sun

Back in 2016 Michael and I connected via social media as I was preparing to run the NYC Marathon and competing for a spot in a national television spot for Foot locker second chances initiative. Michael is a substance abuse coach, counselor and speaker from Australia. He experienced some serious bouts of depression, anxiety and drinking excessively as a young lad growing up and decided to change his life with the love and support of his family and mates. That experience led to taking a risk and going to work part time for a company that educated people on substance abuse, mental illness and overcoming challenges in every day life. That part time risk turned into his passion and allowed him to travel the world working, meeting and having conversations with many differently people. One of his favorite lines is "never underestimate the power of having a conversation" He believes you can learn a lot about others and yourself if you are truly listening and engaged in 'being' present with people
