Senator Feinstein responds to calls for her resignation amid illness, absence

Sinopsis

Senator Dianne Feinstein responded this afternoon as a growing number of Democrats call on her to step down. Feinstein has been working from home since being diagnosed with shingles earlier this year, and the senator's absence on the Senate Judiciary Committee has stalled the advancement of several judicial nominees. South Bay Congressman Ro Khanna tweeted this afternoon that while the Senator has had a lifetime of public service, it is obvious that she can no longer fulfill her duties. Feinstein released a statement saying she will ask Leader Schumer to ask the Senate to allow another Democratic senator to temporarily serve until she's able to resume her committee work.
