But she was a lover of adventure like he was, and when he asked her if she would like to sail to Hawaii and then on to the rest of the world she said yes without hesitation. They needed to build a boat first, and when that was done- hire a small support crew. When the word went out in the papers that London was about to set out on a world voyage and needed a cook and cabin boy, hundreds of letters arrived applying for the spots.
