Sinopsis
Big Two-Hearted River is one of Hemingway's first stories, written upon his return from the Italian Front in 1919, and released in 1924 as a part of his short story collection titled "In Our Time". Part One joins the protagonist Nick Adams, who we can safely assume is Hemingway, since he actually experience this adventure, as he exits a train near the burned out town of Seney in upper Michigan in order to do a few days of solitary camping. There is a backstory to Hemingway's trip to Seney which I might share as a follow up to this short story. The story brought him wide acclaim as an up and coming young writer in the early twenties, writing about a generation which had been greatly affected by World War One.
