In this podcast, we’re going to talk about intermittent fasting and how fasting affects the heart.  It all starts with lowering insulin. When you fast, you lower insulin. Insulin controls what type of fuel your body is going to run on.  Fatty acids from fat cells are the main source of fuel to the heart. Your heart actually prefers a type of ketone called acetoacetate.  Fasting switches your body from glucose to ketones. But, when you eat, you go from ketosis to glucose. Ketones also have the ability to feed the heart if the heart is in a damaged state. So, if you have any type of cardiovascular disease, you may benefit from
