The 42-year-old carpenter was hired by Lloyd Lawrence, who happened to be a kingpin in a local methamphetamine ring. Instead of considering the danger he might face, Mease was blinded by dollar signs. This chance encounter set Mease’s life on a deeply violent trajectory.
