The documentary chronicles Scammy McScammerson Billy McFarland, a wannabe tech bro, and his co-founder rapper Ja Rule’s half-a** attempt to throw an exclusive music festival in the Bahamas to promote their joint-venture FYRE app. Organizers of the festival would soon learn that the island on which the event was to occur had NO infrastructure and couldn’t handle thousands of festival attendees. From janky hurricane tents being sold to attendees as “luxury tents,” to sad and soggy cheese sandwiches being served as a proper meal …the FYRE Festival was doomed from the start.
