Beat It Screenwriting Podcast

Obviously, I have a lot of love for this movie, which is enough reason for me to break it down, but one of the screenwriting reasons I wanted to choose this movie is because of its midpoint. The midpoint beat is often talked about in terms of the main character fully entering their new world. It’s when they become believers. I think that aspect of the midpoint can be a little hard to pinpoint in many movies, or just plain hard to understand, but this movie has a very clear example of this element of the midpoint that I’m excited to talk about.
