None of them had understood what He meant when He told them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be killed, but that on the third day He would be raised to life. As friends so often do, they tried to steer Him away from the path that would lead to the Cross. They had no way of knowing that this was how God had planned to reconcile the world to Himself. Jesus, Life-bringer and Trail-Blazer, Hope-Giver and Soul Restorer, Open our eyes to see You as You really are. As we set our hearts to follow where You lead. Shine Your light into the dark places, where fear grips and doubts assail. Draw us after You, and we will run together through all life’s mazes and in all its joys, leading, guarding, guiding every day, every hour, every place.
