Dr. Tiffany M. Gill is a professor, historian, and a nationally recognized researcher and scholar of African American History. She is the author of the award-winning book Beauty Shop Politics: African American Women's Activism in the Beauty Industry and co-editor of To Turn the Whole World Over: Black Women and Internationalism. A graduate of Georgetown and Rutgers Universities, Dr. Gill was named one of the top 25 Women in Higher Education by Diverse Issues in Higher Education in 2018. A nationally recognized expert in African American Women’s History, the Civil Rights Movement, Black fashion and beauty culture, and travel and migration studies, she has provided expert commentary for various news outlets including National Public Radio, C-SPAN, CNBC, Vox, the Washington Post and New York Times.
