People try a lot of things in order to hit these goals, but in order to design a career that you love and serves you best, you need to get clear on what exactly that career looks like for you. In this bonus episode, I share a technique that you can use to start to shift away from the cultural norms inside of academia and do something counterintuitive. The technique asks you to think of three adjectives you would use to describe your career if you could have it your way. Choosing 3 adjectives to describe your career is a great first step in designing a career you love and that has longevity. Using those 3 adjectives, ask yourself what that kind of professor would do.
