AJ - more famously known on Twitter as @AJLKN is a mysterious dude. No one knows his full name and his social media accounts all display the infamous Johnny Mnemonic helmet shot image. What we do know about AJ is that he ships product like a bat outta hell. In 2008 he starting HTML5UP, a free website template resource that just clocked 12 million downloads. A few years later he launched Pixelarity, the premium version of HTML5UP offering almost 100 website templates, all attribution free, for only $19. This paved the way for his biggest project to date, Carrd - an online website builder allowing anyone to create a simple One Page website for them or their products - completely free. I wanted the Yo! Podcast to spotlight people who are contributing to a better web and there is honestly no one I'd rather kick things off than AJ. Yo! Friends - This is a short tale on how the Yo! Podcast came about and what to expect from the upcoming show. Since the break of Yo! S1 on YouTube I’ve been deeeep in research, trying to understand why people like Podcasts so much? While some like a short burst of Inspiration others like hiking in the mountains and getting lost in slow, soothing 2hr conversion btw 60 years old scientists. Fair enough but reflecting back to Yo! season 1… colorful, informative, punk rock and the odd goof. I created the show I’d want to see and I’m super proud of it. The Yo! Podcast will be exactly how I’d want a show interviewing designers, developers and makers. I want intermissions, SFX, high fives….. even the odd true or false quiz to bring out the personality of the guests. Hell yeah! As always please keep sending feedback.
