Jon Fisher is a graduate of The Philadelphia College of Art where he studied photography under Ray K. Metzker. He began his career as an assistant to the master portrait photographer Arnold Newman. For a number of years he ran his own commercial photography studio in NYC working with advertising agencies, design firms, magazines, and corporate clients. His personal work  has been focused on B&W portraiture, documentary, and landscape imagery. He lists Diane Arbus, Henri Cartier Bresson, and Arnold Newman, as artists who influenced his work.His most recent exhibition in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico, “Dances Of Light,” was comprised of two distinct bodies of work that compliment one another. The black and white nudes that satisfy his more formal sensibility of composition and form, and contrasting color work, which has an abstract “painterly” quality. Episode 36. Phil DeJean. Phil DeJean (also known as Checker Phil) is a host of Checkerboard Kids, a variety show on MNN in New York City (Manhattan Neighborhood Network.) We talk about his bout with Covid19, his cable show, teaching art online, and of course Suzanne Muldowney aka Underdog. Checkerboard Kids show started in 1995. Phil was inspired by his favorite public access show, Beyond Vaudeville (which later became “MTV’s Oddville” in 1997) He began filming Checkerboard Kids in his apartment before relocating to MNN's studio. Phil got to know Suzanne Muldowney aka Underdog back in the early 90’ after she appeared on a episode of Beyond Vaudeville. This was before she ever appeared on the Howard Stern Show.

She is not a big fan of the Easter Bunny and would rather have him replaced by an Easter Chicken.
