WutUpDoe... Some of you may recognize the artwork and title of this mix from 3-4 years ago, but I decided that the first volume was not up to standard. This is the 2nd take where I should have taken my time rather than just record while I was mixing live at my first car show gig for The Royale Cigar Lounge in Columbus, Ohio at that time. This is dedicated to a friend that found me online many years ago through MySpace and that has taken the time to teach me about so much music I probably never would have heard otherwise: Mr. Dorian Green aka Dino. Originally born in West Philly, but has resided in Flint, Michigan for decades that just about everyone knows one way or another through his kind acts of service, as a radio dj in his younger years, or making and supporting musical acts of all genres. I just wanted to show my appreciation using what I love to do when I have time to do it. This is 1 of 3 Volumes I hope to finish by the Summer of 2023, but also I can't wait to visit his crazy ass before this year is o

Just felt a lil nostalgic the other night of how far I've come since my Mainstream Days up to 2009. Originally recorded back in August of 2008, I'd mix music like this during happy hour while I was figuring out my next steps for the future. I used to just record a mix directly to a Sony recordable CD Player. Who remembers that??!! You might hear a few tunes I've used since Vol. 5, but my favorite transition was a track I got by V ft. JIll Scott named Born Again. While I happen to be on Twitter, a post was retweeted by a DEfected DJ for their Unsung Heroes dj competition where the winners would be able to perform as the opening set DJ for 4 events including Ibiza and London. Thought I'd check my skill level and give it a try. The minimum length of the mixes was only 60 minutes, but I've always wanted to make a 2-3 hour or more mix. What kept me from doing so is the Mixing/Mastering process using my old Tascam Digital Multi-Track Audio Recorder from 2009 because it was so frustrating to get the mix to the right level vs using a Recordable CD Recorder (Thus always under 80 minutes)Took the chance and bought a new Tascam Multi-Track Audio Recorder a couple of weeks ago, and I'm still in the process of learning how to mixdown/master, but this came out pretty good after doing some research and buying a program to help convert it from WAV to MP3 which PodOmatic seems to only prefer. Oh well, we'll see what happens in a couple of weeks, but my purpose in creating the mix was
