Sinopsis

The members of Blaggards, a band that's been together for over 15 years, share their experiences while taking questions from listeners."The official podcast of all things Blaggards. Found on all major pod platforms and delivered weekly, its a behind-the-music view of the band, with tidbits for new fans (its just Blaggards, not The Blaggards, newbs) and cool stuff for longtime followers (Episode 5 discusses how the bands music has been used in films like How to Be Single and TV shows like The Good Wife). Its engaging hosts are smart and funny. An interesting aside is the podcast also offers occasional glimpses back at Houstons music community." Jesse Sendejas, Houston Press

  • Episode 261: Nostradamus on Bass

    13/02/2024 Duración: 15min

SlapperCast Episode 261: "Nostradamus on Bass" This is a short but very complex episode. An unusual situation required us to drive to an out-of-town gig in three different vehicles. Patrick, Chad and Turbo recorded segments individually while driving, and our friend Greg Fugate provided footage of the live show at Logon Cafe. Unfolding throughout the episode is the story of how two soundguys at two different venues got intertwined with one name, erroneously and yet also somewhat precognitively... because of one befuddled bass player. • Episode 255: Constipated Satan

    02/01/2024 Duración: 51min

This one was recorded on the road to our last two gigs of 2023 in Little Rock and Brenham. It also happened to be Turbo's birthday. • Episode 254: Fresh Batch of Soap

    26/12/2023 Duración: 39min

This one was recorded en route to our gig at Kelly's Irish Pub in Austin, and again on the way home, with Patrick daughter's Tara running camera and joining in the conversation. Towards the end of the first segment we encountered a torrential downpour that got so loud we had to stop recording. It was still raining when we arrived at Kelly's, and the wooden stage area was exposed to the elements and completely soaked through. But thankfully the bar manager allowed us to commander the covered area of the patio. There were hints online that the turnout that night would be good, but we were still knocked out by how many people showed up, especially considering the weather… and by the time we started playing it was standing room only and packed to the gills. This was the first gig we'd played in Austin since Fadó closed in 2018, so it was quite a thrill to see so many old friends and familiar faces, and of course all our new friends as well. Chris Buckley joined us on fiddle for this show and did a FANTASTIC job.
