He has been awarded the Region Assistant Coach of The Year for softball in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2020. Coach Bowles has also been recognized as the State Assistant Coach of The Year by the Georgia Dugout Club (2017, 2020) and the GACA (2017, 2018, 2020).

NEST is located at Newnan City Church at 17 First Ave. For about four years, the shelter has been supported by donations and volunteers through the church, Baker said. But this year, for the first time, other churches in town have taken on assigned days to provide volunteers and meals, she said.
