It started in 1976 when people in Circleville Ohio began receiving letters that contained information about their personal lives. Many of these letters were about the recipients private sex lives. In this episode of the Crack House Chronicles Donnie and Dale discuss Joseph Augustus Zarelli - The Boy In The Box. On Feb. 25, 1957, a college student was wandering in a wooded area of Philadelphia’s Fox Chase neighborhood when he found the dead body of a little boy in a box. The child had been beaten to death and wrapped in a blanket before being left in a JC Penney box he was found in. He was malnourished and had seven scars, three of which may have been surgical scars. Then, after nearly 66 years, on Dec. 6, 2022, Philadelphia police held a news conference to reveal they had used the latest DNA and genetic genealogy techniques to identify the boy, according to The New York Times. His name was Joseph Augustus Zarelli. In this episode of the Crack House Chronicles Donnie and Dale discuss the murder of Robert Eric Wone. Wone was an American lawyer who was murdered in Washington, D.C., in August 2006 in the home of a college friend, Joe Price. Wone was living in suburban Oakton, Virginia, but had been working as general counsel at Radio Free Asia in downtown Washington. He had stayed the night at the home of friends located about one mile from his office. According to police affidavits, Wone was believed to have been "restrained, incapacitated, and sexually assaulted" before his death. At the time of his escape, Chism was serving a 40 year state sentence for armed robbery and narcotics violations followed by an additional 30 year federal sentence for kidnapping and hijacking an airplane. During his previous escape, Chism shot and seriously wounded a correctional officer. On February 10, 1990, in the small town of Las Cruces, New Mexico, two gunmen entered the Las Cruces Bowl on East Amador Avenue. The manager Stephanie Senac was getting ready to open up, she was in the office with her daughter, Melissa Repass her friend Amy Houser. Ida Holguin, who worked as the bowling alley cook, was setting up for the day in the kitchen. Steve Teran, the pin mechanic, would arrive a short time later with his daughters, Valerie and Paula, aged 2 and 6.
