PEP Talk – 30-Day Acts of Kindness Challenge
19/06/2020 Duración: 12minWelcome to today’s’ PEP Talk – 30-Day Acts of Kindness Challenge I believe we need a positive movement of change in our country. I believe we need to unite as a community and I believe we need to get back to some basic principles of humanity by intentionally displaying acts of gentleness and love. I invite you to participate in a 30-Day Acts of Kindness Challenge. I challenge you to carry out three acts of kindness, each day, during the month of July. By practicing kindness, every day for 30 days, we can begin to rewire the brain. We can begin to shift away from looking for the ways in which we are divided and start looking for the ways in which we are united. By the way, July has 31 days so you get an extra day to solidify this new habit. There is a page on my website where I would like for you to share some, or all, of your acts of kindness, each day, throughout July. Feel free to share how someone was kind to you. Please forward this email, or the link to the podcast, to others. Please help me crea

In today’s PEP Talk, I discuss a potential root cause of unexpected reactions to the pandemic. I recorded this podcast before the death of George Floyd; however, I believe the information in this podcast, particularly the second part of the podcast, regarding grace and compassion, applies to the divisiveness surrounding the current tragedy. In this podcast, I reference two other podcasts which I have included links for below. I said Curiosity Versus Fear was episode 7; however, it was episode 8. PEP Talk – Control – Episode #1 PEP Talk – Curiosity Versus Fear – Episode #8 I recently read this quote and I wanted to share it with you: “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more na

I am hopeful you will find the suggestions to overcome these gaffes, simple and attainable. I recorded this month’s PEP Talk before the coronavirus pandemic and prior to the enactment of the stay at home order. Consequently, I did not reference our current challenges in the podcast. Therefore, during this incredibly challenging time, I want to take a moment to provide some self-care suggestions which can assist in elevating your mood: 1. Outdoors – please take time to go outside every day. Ideally, I would like for you to walk for 30 minutes every day. There are numerous nutrients we receive from the sun (even on a cloudy day). These nutrients support bodily processes, including the systems which support our mood.

28/02/2020 Duración: 19minWelcome to today’s’ PEP Talk – Trickery of the Food Industry – Episode #13 In this month’s PEP Talk I discuss the area of the brain associated with pleasure and how manufacturing companies purposefully hijack this area of the brain so you will eat more of the foods they manufacture. Additionally, be sure to listen for the discount code (during the month of March) for my PEP for Life Transformational System bundle which is available through my website. 28/08/2019 Duración: 11minWelcome to today’s PEP Talk – Redirection Versus Distraction – Episode #7. I want to apologize for the sound quality of this month’s PEP Talk. When I saved it, the software created a couple of glitches in the recording that were not there prior to saving the recording. There are two sections where words are repeated and/or it sounds as though the track skips. Again, I apologize, and I hope it does not “distract” you from the message. Are you someone who utilizes distractions to avoid thinking about upsetting events/situations? In today’s PEP Talk – Redirection Versus Distraction – Episode #7, I discuss the techniques of distraction and redirection. I explain the difference between the two approaches, and I explain why it is important to redirect yourself versus distracting yourself when something comes to your mind that distresses you. PEP Talk – Listen – Episode #2
23/03/2019 Duración: 11minWelcome to today's PEP Talk - Listen. I believe listening is one of the most treasured gifts that we can give to another person. It is free and it is simple to do. Yet, if we are truly honest with ourselves, how often do we genuinely listen to the other person who is talking to us? When others are talking, it is very common to be lost in our own thoughts about what is going on in our own world or possibly being distracted by the art of multitasking - checking the phone. When someone feels as though another is truly listening to him/her that person feels heard and feels valued. This is a very validating experience that can lift a person’s spirit and it can positively impact self-worth. This occurs not only for the person who was listened to, this occurs for the person who was listening as well. I encourage you to be mindful when you are communicating with others. Take note of whether you are sincerely listening or if you are only half listening because you are distracted by something else. Thank you so mu
