This series that we’re in is all about our core values at South Hills  Church. Just like every family has a way of thinking, talking, and handling things. The same is true of every church. The same is true for our church. Who are we, what are our priorities, and where did we get these ideas? Over these last weeks we have been sharing our core values. All of which are based off of biblical stories and sayings from the first generation of Christians that summarize the sort of church that we set out to be. This is us.

Our mission here at South Hills is to lead unchurched people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ! And as a church we have core values that kind of identify who we are and what our goals are. We believe that we’re a diverse family of followers who share these certain values. This is us. And so throughout this series my goal is to remind, refocus, and re-rally all of our people around our 10 core values as we gradually re-open our facilities and begin gathering in-person, readying ourselves to what God wants to do next.

And the premise behind this series is that everybody has questions—about faith, God, Scripture, spirituality. Well, OTHER people do; obviously not YOU. So, we thought we’d take a few weeks to talk through some things people we know wonder about and wrestle with, from both inside and outside of the church. And you get to eavesdrop. Because CLEARLY these aren’t your questions. They all came from other people, and even they were just asking for a friend.”

The Gift of Grace & Salvation!

So we’ve been talking about prayer over these last few weeks and how prayer is an incredibly effective tool in order to communicate with God. In fact, It’s a powerful thing because it allows us to recognize and acknowledge who God is and establishes our dependence on Him.

How the will of God for Jesus ties into the will of God for us!

People say, “Pray, don’t panic.” And we all want to. But many of us don’t feel like we know how. Or maybe we’re just not good at it. I want to believe that prayer works; that it changes things; that it can make the world better; that it can make me better. But...how? People during the days of Jesus asked the same sort of questions. And he responded by teaching his followers to pray in a revolutionary way.

This series is all about introducing you to a God-centered view of money, helping you tunnel out of debt, and build values-based giving rhythms into your lives that cultivate kingdom-mindedness, generosity, and fulfillment.
