This week was quite the watch. Not only did we watch an OVA before the series but the OVA was just so bad for us. The story made no sense, the art was sub-par, and the whole thing made no sense. This week we talk about the Last Exile.... Or rather Exile about the world..worlds.... That Claus and Lavie are in. There are ups and downs but the story was solid and the music that accompanied it was great. The artwork reminded us of the anime Witch Hunter Robin and Ergo Proxy. We can't help but get lost in the weeds this week with a difference of views. But the story was solid and they certainly made a more psychological season with the mind games being taken to the next level on this. This week we revisit the world of Gaea, but this time it was a vastly different world. The story was also vastly different but, in our opinion, it was also a far better story. If you are looking for a direct comparison to the series, then you are not going to find it. The similarities were few but the story of growth and struggle where still there. We review this week's choice and it was quite the adventure. Jack didn't really care for it but Rick liked it and it was a good show for him. The story is all about trying to save the world which they are trying but they just are not what it needs. The characters were cookie-cutter-ish. It is a short one and it was easy to get through. The music was one thing we both agreed on and the soundtrack is solid. Next week, we're watching The Vision of Escaflowne, a classic mecha anime about a high school girl who is transported to a fantasy world and teams up with a prince to fight against an evil empire.
