Sin stubbornness fosters demise. Psalm 32:3-4 (NLT) When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. Day and night Your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. 2. Sin confession fosters freedom. Psalm 32:5 (NLT) Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the LORD.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. 3. Sin forgiveness fosters joy. Psalm 32:1 (NLT) Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! 4. Sin expungement fosters empowered living. When Herod saw how much this pleased the Jewish people, he also arrested Peter. While Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. Big Idea: Prayer changes outcomes. 1. God’s activity isn’t always recognizable. Acts 12:9 (NLT) So Peter left the cell, following the angel. But all the time he thought it was a vision. He didn’t realize it was actually happening. 2. My lack of faith does not prevent God from working. Acts 12:13-15 (NLT) He knocked at the door in the gate, and a servant girl named Rhoda came to open it. When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed that, instead of opening the door, she ran back inside and told everyone, “Peter is standing at the door!” “You’re out of your mind!” they said.
