24/04/2025 Duración: 04minACL knowledge bites, because there's so much more to the ACL In the picturesque Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, an artist who never sleeps is capturing candid moments of unsuspecting drivers day and night. But don't worry, this isn't about an avant garde street photographer. It's the ever watchful speed and red light cameras making sure our roads stay safe and you too. Luxembourg's roads are closely monitored by 20 fixed speed cameras scattered across the country. On top of that, there are seven mobile radar units known locally as Radar transom. These units track a vehicle's average speed over long distances, making sure drivers don't just slow down near fixed cameras and then speed up again. In 2023, these combined forces flashed more than 350,000 times, handing out over €15 million in fines. That is about 965 reminders per day. So yeah, quite a lot. With fines ranging from €49 for minor infractions to several hundred euros for serious offences, ignoring cameras can be pretty expensive. And where are they? I

Déi Aner translates to "the other" in English and that is who they are trying to include. The Birthday celebration is happening with a Zine making workshop at MUDAM, the idea was to take the online zine and create something in-person that everyone can touch. Gabrielle feels that there was a need for a new kind of media because "we are being dominated mostly by a vibe of more bougie, patriarchal, heteronormative, society or structures. She and her co-founder started Déi Aner as it was their dream to own their own media, and from the basic idea grew more motivation and more political engagement than they expected. Julian and Gisele have both gotten certifications during their time at PwC Luxembourg. Julian completed the IRE (Institut des Réviseurs d'Entreprises), Gisele has completed the OEC (Ordre des Experts-Comptables), the French Chartered Accountancy diploma and hopes to next complete the IRE. As well, both mentioned that AI is the next topic they would like to learn more about, potentially completing a course or certification about this in the future. Both guests highlighted the benefit of getting certifications as it kept them up to date and developing in their field as well as extending their remit.
