  • Combine Mega Mailbag

    04/03/2020 Duración: 01h02min

The boys are back for this fine Wednesday to give you guys the NFL combine recap (with a Ravens perspective) that you're looking for. They do so largely by fielding your questions from social media - user submissions to @PodcastBeatdown on Twitter and @baltimore_beatdown are the anchor of the ship for today's episode as the boys have an hours' worth of questions to answer from there, so strap in and enjoy. They relate largely to last week's combine as mentioned, but other questions enter the fray as well (in relation to free agency, offseason approach etc... even the Coronavirus gets a mention). Hopefully we got to your questions in this one, but if not feel free to keep hitting us up and we'll be sure to try and get your question read for you. We hope you guys enjoy, and we'll see you next time! The boys are back after a very eventful week and have a ton of news to catch up on, and a very fun interview for you all as well. His lengthy chat with Jake dives deep into what it's like to cover the event as a reporter, his favorite press conferences he got to attend, some memorable encounters with prospects, and much, much more. What's up guys? It's almost combine week, that's what's up. The boys are absolutely stoked to see a bunch of 20 something men running around an indoor field in spandex, and decided to throw together a quick preview for you guys to enjoy. There's no one in the Baltimore Beatdown Podcast expanded Universe that's better for something like that than friend of the show Connor Rogers (ConnorJRogers) from Bleacher Report, so they dialed him up to have a chat from the perspective of somebody who's covered the event before and will be attending it this year. Topics include drills to watch, what goes on in those mysterious meeting rooms, Indianapolis' place on the scale of great American cities, and much, much more. • Super Bowl LIV Recap ft. Matt Pyne

    04/02/2020 Duración: 37min

The Baltimore Beatdown podcast is back for Tuesday, February 4th. This time, Jake is joined by Russell Street Report blogger Matt Pyne (@MPyne_) to recap the big game from this past Sunday. That would of course be Super Bowl LIV in Miami, in which the Kansas City Chiefs emerged victorious over the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 to claim their first title in several decades. The guys have plenty to talk about, starting with their perspectives on the game heading into it, what they thought of some of the big plays as they were unfolding, the halftime show and commercials, as well as plenty of other stuff surrounding it all. They also try to touch on things from a Ravens point of view from time to time, and try to parse through it all and see if Baltimore can learn anything from these two teams. Hope you guys enjoy the recap, and until next time, have an awesome week! As a result, they touch on Terrell Suggs' comments during his media availability in Miami, Lamar Jackson stating he has no interest in even watching the game, and an interesting nugget about Joe Flacco's standings among all time performances in the big game. The boys also discuss who they'll be rooting for on Sunday, before finally jumping into the big topic for today's show: the guys' top five favorite Super Bowls of all time. We hope you all enjoy this one, and have an amazing, safe Super Bowl weekend. Enjoy the game! • Drowning our sorrows with PFF Gordon

    14/01/2020 Duración: 01h08min

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened - or, at least that's what the boys are trying to tell themselves after the Ravens were stunned at home in the divisional round to the wild card seeded Tennessee Titans led by castoff quarterback Ryan Tannehill. It's about as insane to type out as it is that it actually occurred, and it's not a whole lot of fun to talk about either. That said, Jake and Spencer have a job to do and as such they're here to talk this thing out with you guys in the hopes of getting some closure on the season ending so abruptly. They also have the pleasure of welcoming a great guest in to help them do so - Gordon McGuinness (@PFF_Gordon) of Pro Football Focus (32:18). Gordon joins the show to chat with Jake about how he got his start watching and covering football while growing up in Scotland, what made him a Ravens fan, some thoughts on this season, and more. We hope you guys enjoyed despite the heartbreak, and we'll talk to you again on Friday. Follow the show on social: Fa
