Unlocking The Truth

If you joined us for the Hold Fast Conference with Kay and David Arthur, you had an opportunity to dig into 1 Peter and learn that the main focus of Peter’s first letter was focused on how to stand firm and hold fast in the midst of suffering and persecution. Peter’s second letter and final words to believers is "remember." In the midst of all that was happening to the believers, false teachers were secretly introducing destructive teaching. The scattered believers were in a battle for truth much like we are today, and Peter’s letter is applicable today as the day it was written. This week we will overview the letter, find the reason for writing, and look at why it is vital we study 2 Peter today.

In our final week looking at 2 Thessalonians we will look at Paul’s final instructions to the church. Since the beginning Paul has sent the example for all he ministered to, he worked hard, provided for himself and never wanted to hinder the gospel moving forward throughout the world. In the final section of chapter 3 Paul will share how we are to deal with those who a living like busybodies. Don’t miss this final episode as we will learn how to apply very difficult truths.

Prayer is a main focus of Paul’s ministry but how important is prayer to you? This week we will study Paul’s prayer life and how we can transform our conversations with God.

This week we will continue our focus on the Day of the Lord. We will look at both letters to the Thessalonians and see what Paul has shared with the church about the second coming of Jesus Christ. Why do we need to know the signs? Join us as we wrap up our study on chapter 2.

This week we move into chapter 2 of Paul’s second letter to the Thessalonians. The church was shaken and being deceived about the Day of the Lord. The persecution and suffering were increasing, and the church was worried that they had missed the coming and gathering of believers. This week we will look at how Paul encourages believers to be comforted but what they already know about the Day of the Lord.

As the Thessalonian Church continued their full-on pursuit of Christlikeness the persecution increased and the enemy was at work to stop the furthering of God’s Kingdom. Are you in the midst of suffering and persecution and wondering why you are going through all of this pain? Join us this week as we look at the role of suffering in the life of Christians.

It’s been 4-6 months since Paul wrote his first letter to the Thessalonians and the church is still suffering for the gospel. This week we will overview Paul’s second letter to the church.
