Desesperado el rey decide pedir ayuda al señor del inframundo, Mictlantecuhtli, quien les ayudará, pero a un precio muy alto. En el epílogo hablamos de cómo una rama de los antiguos de este pueblo más tarde se convirtió en el gran Imperio Azteca.

Once, the people had peace and prosperity—however, their fate changed when the kind-hearted god Tezcatlipoca left them. In despair, the king turns for help to Mictlantecuhtli, the underworld lord. It won’t turn out well in the afterword how this story is related to the later Aztec Empire.

Finalizamos con un cuento sobre un niño que también quiso saber sobre lo que los perros ven en la noche.
