The Noise Pop Podcast

In this live edition of Noisemakers, we're joined by three of the East Bay's most notable up and coming artists in Xiomara, Madeline Kenney and 1-O.A.K. Listen in for intimate performances and conversations with our guests, from an event that took place at Oakland's Starline Social Club on Thursday, April 6th.

May's Noisemakers Mix opens up with a single from Chastity Belt's excellent upcoming album. We play a cut from Baths side project, Geotic, and introduce Bay Area industrial rock band Houses of Heaven. The latest release from Montreal's TOPS flows into the most accessible cut we've heard from Shabazz palaces yet and the mix rounds out with a track from Brooklyn's Nick Hakim, whose debut album is our most anticipated of the month. 

The April Noisemakers mix is a most eclectic one, with tracks from Australia's Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, LA's psychedelic singer Steady Holiday. San Francisco's Spooky Mansion, outlaw country singer Jamie Wyatt and more. 

From deep in the heart of SXSW, Host Adrian Spinelli interviews San Fermin’s Ellis Ludwig-Leone, all three members of Khruangbin, and Bay Area rapper Rex Life Raj about the constant hustle of SXSW as well as their current projects. You'll hear tracks from all three of these artists…and get a couple more selections from some of Adrian’s live favorites at SXSW.   

LIVE from Swedish American Hall, March's Noisemakers episode was recorded in front of a live audience as part of Noise Pop Festival's 25th Anniversary. Episode features interviews and performances with Diet Cig, Rayana Jay and Andrew St. James.

No Bay Area rapper is buzzing harder than Berkeley's Caleborate right now. On this session of our My Mix series, Caleborate breaks down the artists and songs that have influenced his latest LP, 1993, and deconstructs one of his own tracks with host Adrian Spinelli.

Sampling is a way to revive classic recordings to ensure that they remain timeless. This summer, millions of people will party at music festivals around the world and yet again, there's a glaring absence of women at the top of these festival lineups. What's going on here?
