This week Conner and Nick talk about podcasting. This is our second show we’ve produced together and we publish here on Anchor. However, Nick is starting a show for his company Founders Live and he is looking at alternative ways at recording and distributing the show. This week there was a lot of hype around a seattle startup launch called Mystery which curates exclusive date itineraries for its users. We discuss whether we would use a service like this and what we think of their business model. The second topic is about our favorite brands. A recent poll found that millennials favorite brand is Amazon, Apple and Nike (in that order) and we talk about how relevant these are to our lives. Enjoy the show! This week’s topics are focused around 3 recent FoundersLive Winners and we got into a spontaneous conversation about collecting personal information and what it would take for one of us to get a microchip placed in our body to get vital health information back? This week’s discussions starts with a topic we have put off for the last two weeks. On August 1, world famous video game streamer, Ninja, left Amazon owned Twitch to joint Microsoft’s Mixer. In the weeks following, Ninjas former channel had some suspicious content connected to it. This lead us into ownership and the recent controversy over the umbrella company and owners of Equinox & Soul Cyle. This week there were lots of protest over the gyms owners involvement in politics, but we wonder who the real losers will end up being...

This week Conner met with a seattle based entrepreneur and she expressed interest in wanting to spend a year living in a van, traveling the country meeting women business owners and sharing their stories. This show is actually about catching up. We had to reschedule last week’s show so we bundled two weeks of topics into one show. Topics include 50 years since landing on the moon, facebook fines and antitrust, faceapp, amazon prime day, and FoundersLive Winners

This week we learned that local startup UTrip closed its doors unexpectedly with little warning to its staff, investors and customers. The AI focused travel planning company has been praised for its fundraising and awards over the past 8 years of operation, so this news came as a surprise, There are some good learning lessons from this story and Nick and Conner discuss some of the things they’ve thought about in regards to the difficulties of running a venture backed startup

This week’s show focuses on tips about working and living on the road. Nick is currently in his 7th month traveling the country and Conner calls from Idaho so the conversation transitioned into strategies about tips to finding hidden gems, getting secure WiFi, doing laundry and taking public transportation.

Nick recently discovered the trend “mukbang” where people eat food and slurp noodles while viewers obsess and watch religiously, creating millions of dollars in revenue. Conner & Nick also talk about the struggles with creating a business as an influencer and some of their personal influencers journeys. Nick this week is in Minnesota for Founders Live and Conner is at home in Seattle.

This week Nick is calling Conner from Bozeman, Montana. The conversation revolves around content strategy and working on developing ways to promote our businesses through video. Conners company Find Me creates videos about local businesses in Seattle which drives him leads to provide marketing services. This week Conner and Nick discuss the risks of an employee joining a startup. Working for a small (hopefully growing) company comes with highs and lows. We are back for Season2 of the show, and after a few weeks off we are truly catching up on Nicks life on the Road (currently in Dallas) and a company he recently learned about called Monarc, a robot quarterback. Conner has been stressed with taxes and learning how to balance life and business as they have become blend into the same thing.
