The Kitchen Table Bistro in Richmond VT made so many friends with Sunday Brunch when it kicked off at the beginning of the year that a second day was added. Saturday Brunch at the Kitchen Table is the beginning of many new things for this bistro that is both a neighborhood spot and a destination. Chef-Owner Craig Anthony talked to us about it as broadcast on Food Dude Radio April 13 2024.

What if you had your own restaurant? Anyone who has been in the industry for more than ten minutes has had that thought at least for a moment. Julie Finestone and David Zeidler did. They are the owners of Barkeaters Restaurant in Shelburne, Vermont, a place that everyone in the area knows. It was a battle with spoons, bowls and steaming pots of the finest chili anyone could hope to taste. Eleven brave competitors went at it with a prize on the line - not to mention the title of honor - Chili Champion of Newport, Rhode Island. So we boldly say, Valentine's Day is the Super Bowl of Romance. When you hear this menu from Chef Antonio Petri at the Waybury Inn in Middlebury, Vermont, you'll know what we mean.

It's one of those "Is A Hot Dog A Sandwich" questions. It was asked by a well known maker of cream cheese. Challenge - Bagel bakers: Come up with a bagel without a hole to hold more cream cheese and stuff. The Montreal part is even more intriguing. Montreal bagels are a bit of a different breed and very popular outside of Montreal as well. St. Viateur Bakery is considered the leader in Montreal and the only bakery in Canada chosen for this social experiment. Owner Vince Morena and I talked about how it went.
