A Communion reflection on Jesus as the Lamb of God

The Lord provided Ruth and Naomi a redeemer in Boaz. God has provided a redeemer for us in Jesus. At the city gate of Bethlehem, Boaz, the kinsman-redeemer, secures the redemption of Ruth, the Moabite. They marry, have a son, and bring redemption and joy to Naomi.

Ruth meets Boaz at the threshing floor hoping that he will be her redeemer. She hopes to find rest in him. Ultimately, we enter God's rest through faith in Christ.
