Instead of asking the youth what they might want to be when they grow up ask them what problem do they want to solve when they grow up. Having these conversations at a young age can get the mind thinking of ways to help others while also being consciously aware of the problems plaguing our world today. We discuss how two 15-year old high school students came up with a simple yet brilliant idea of a makeshift backpack that can be transformed into a tent. We also cover the Empowerment movement company that has not only designed a insulated jacket that can turn into a sleeping bag but has also created jobs for those exact people who are sleeping on the streets. He then moves and becomes a philanthropist and decides to visit his old neighborhood to bring gifts and joy to the underprivileged children living there. A perfect example of paying it forward. We also had a great story of how a man named Amarildo Silva finds a useful and creative way to recycle tires that were littering the streets of his neighborhood in Brazil. He would take the old tires clean them up and create comfortable pet beds. This story was shared with us by Amanda Kim a friend and listener of the podcast.
