Evan and I both moved out to Chiang Mai in October 2014 for the Dropship Lifestyle e-commerce conference. And hot diggity! We still here folks! People always ask about living expenses out here, so I thought we'd just riff about it for 10 minutes to make it clear! I spend a little over $1000/mo including - $300/mo basic apartment room (after Aircon electric bill) - $300/mo or around $10/day (300baht) on food/coffee/water/snacks - $250/mo beer/partyspend - $100/mo Punspace coworking membership (optional) - $80/mo Crossfit Chiangmai membership - $80/mo motorbike rental - $25/mo 3G SIM card Overall, you can live off as little as $600/mo if u don't drink. But expect around $1000/mo if you go out once a week to party. And of course if you got cheese, you can ball out here for real cheap..... For just $1500 or $2000/mo you can live in nice condo and rent a real motorcycle if u want. 100baht = $3 USD! 1000 baht = $30 USD!

Digital Nomad Podcast with Ocean Lawrence from Ho Chi Minh City aka Saigon, VIETNAM! Just 2 years ago Ocean was making living arrangements for his Freshmen year at University, but in a leap of faith decided to postpone it to chase the dream. Good choice. Flash forward two years and now he's making a full-time Southeast Asia living online and has lived in Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and the US and Canada. We met in October of 2014 at the weeklong Dropship Lifestyle Retreat in Chiang Mai, Thailand (where I'm writing this) which consisted of 100 new and experienced online entrepreneurs. We both stayed to live in Chiang Mai for the next 6 months while we learned from others how to best go about starting our online businesses.
