After that there is a run through on Wrexham, Cardiff, Newport and Swansea's recent fortunes, a mention of Cwmbran Town's remarkable run of form and the Wales Women's recent match against Portugal. There are some sound issues in parts of this recording, as the pub we recorded in was just about to host a quiz and it was really loud toward the end as a consequence! Apologies.

Everything from formations, team selections and results get an airing. There's also a broad discussion on the U21's team and the role they play in the senior side and the Wales set up all together. Dai and Ruth also open with a conversation on the darker elements of the Red Wall which has crept in, in recent games. From some racist chants before the game, a racist comment inside the ground and two female fans being groped during the game. It's a sad way to start this podcast, but an important one. It's a wide and varied conversation as always recorded in a Boston bar between two friends and is well worth a listen.

There is talk about the squad, preferred line ups, and who will be the captain among many other things. The confusion regarding the Denmark game gets an airing as does who should play if we end up facing a Denmark B team. There is also a closing statement on Hal Robson Kanu and his retirement from international football. It's a good listen we think, so we hope you enjoy it!

    The final summer series podcast! Ruth and Dai are back in the local pub talking about football, and no celebrity guests to hold us back.... They talk through how they think Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Wrexham will get on this season as well as what impact their signings will have. There's also a conversation on how those Welsh players who have moved clubs will get on, either on loan or permanently. The long discussion in on the crucial Wales Women qualifier against England where a win will see the team through to the World Cup for the first time. Sadly there are other permutations if we don't win regarding the playoffs, and it's very complicated! All the options are explained, as are the key results which we need to go our way if we don't win. It's a good listen, and is made better by the fact that Haley and Seren give their opinions on the game too!

We talk about how Jess got into football (thanks to her sister), her early career in the UK before moving to Holland and the impact that had on her as a player and a person. We discuss the other moves in her career which have taken in Germany, Australia and now the US. We discuss her Wales career, her first game and of course the upcoming clash against England as Wales try to make the World Cup for the first time. She tells us how it felt to get an MBE plus our regular child star Seren, gives Jess a few questions too. Jess also gives us her thoughts on what Women's football needs to do to improve and change, plus how much life her international career has left. All in all, Jess gives us a lot of insights on what it's like to be a footballer and was incredibly genuine and honest with her answers over three sittings of discussions! It's a great chat and worth a listen!

Owain discussed his move from North Wales playing for Bangor, down to South Wales and Swansea City. In that he talks about winning the LDV Vans Trophy, and then losing in the playoff final weeks later at the same location. Owain talked openly about his injury problems, how the whole thing made him feel and the difficulties which came with it. We talked about his move to Norwich and the debut disaster where he lost 7-1 before that side went on to be promoted.
