Geek Mentality

In June 2014, I accepted a mission. A mission that I made up for myself where I would watch a movie every single day and podcast (or back then, blog) about it. Part of that mission was so I could finally watch movie series that I keep hearing about but never got around to starting. This was one of those series - and I am so glad that I started watching them. A few months back, I got my brother to start watching these movies and he had two thoughts. First, Tom Cruise is insane (in a good way, with the stunts he does). And second, these movies are awesome. He's right about both and I am thrilled to finally be seeing this latest one.

Come on, Barbie, let's go podcast....Welcome back, fellow nerds! It's Sunday. It's day two, and today I am completing the Barbenheimer duology - watching the two biggest movies from 2023 back to back. Big shout out to my niece who graduates from 8th grade today! Next year she is going to my alma mater and hopefully she can make our name cool again....Well maybe not again - being in the bowling club for four years doesn't scream "homecoming king" material. But it was fun - just like this movie! The difference being my bowling club had no moral message to go along with the the fun, which I think is what made this movie so popular and yes, powerful. Fun but thoughtful.

Hello fellow cool kids, and welcome back to MOVIE MONTH! Can you believe it? This is my 11th year of watching 30 movies in 30 days and now the ninth year of doing 30 podcast episodes. Did you miss it as much as I did? I'll just assume you said yes to save my some tears. I decided to start this one off with a bang, get it? I'll probably use that same joke during the podcast, but I don't know because I wrote this hours ago and we'll see if I remember to bring back such an amazing play on words. Yup, this is what you can expect for 29 more days.

There really was only one way for this whole thing to end, wasn't there. If I was going to do a "MARCHY McFLY 4" then I think I had to tell the story of Back to the Future Part IV - or at least what I think it could be. Some parts are more flushed out than others - but in the end I think I put together something kind've fun. You both listen and watch this episode. This final episode of the season. There were 26 episodes of "Back to the Future: The Animated Series" over two seasons - but what was the BEST episode of them all? Tonight in the penultimate episode of Marchy McFly, I painstakingly (emphasis on pain) go back through every episode and have them battle each other in a head-to-head tournament that can only be called....Marchy McMadness. It's Friday night here at Marchy McFly and we are here discussing the final episode of the Back to the Future animated series, "Verne Hatches an Egg," in which all of our unanswered questions get answered. I haven't been this excited since the final episode of LOST. Oh, speaking of "we" AND that final episode of LOST, tonight I am joined by a Geek Mentality and Marchy McFly regular as my good friend Eric returns to the show. Yes, I made him watch this episode - but it wasn't actually his first time seeing it... Oh and here is that YouTube video that I mentioned that talks about the animated series.

It's double-shot Thursday! That's right, you get a double shot of double shots as I talk about episodes eleven and twelve of the animated series, "Super Doc" and "St. Louis Blues." But fear not, there is only one more episode and then we never have to think about this cartoon ever again. And as an added bonus, because of something that happens in the 2nd episode - look out for a clip of me singing something....back around 1988. Talk about going back in time!!

It's double-shot Wednesday, boys and girls. Today starts our double-double day as we cover four episodes of the animated series over the next two days. First up - today, we talk about episodes nine "Hill Valley Brown-Out" and 10 "My Pop's an Alien." So does this mean twice the excitement and twice the fun? Well, you'll have to listen and find out.

I'm probably never going to say I watched a great episode of the Back to the Future animated series, but I will give credit when credit is due. Today I talk about the eighth episode of the second season, "A Verne by Any Other Name, " and I think they hit all the right notes that I am looking for. A story with time travel and with time travel that plays a major part of the story. Just keep doing that.

They did it again! They. Did. It. Again. Two days in a row. Tonight, I am here talking about the seventh episode of this second (and thankfully final) season of the Back to the Future animated series, "The Money Tree." It's exactly what you think it's about. A tree with money. Money. And no time travel. Again.

Happy Friday, Futurists!, we're back on board with the animated series and today I watched the fourth episode from the second season, "Marty McFly PFC." It's going to be a lot of animated series for the rest of the way so strap in and get ready as we're in the final ten episodes of Marchy McFly....forever?

It's Double Shot Thursday as today I once again double up the action as I talk about issue five of the Back to the Future: Untold Tales and Alternate Timelines Comic, featuring "Clara's Story," which was pretty great. I then follow that up with something not so great as I talk about and play the "Back to the Future II & III" NES Game, in which I answer the age old question, can it possibly be worse than the first game?

Whoa, this is heavy. Less than 12 hours ago I put up yesterday's episode and now I'm already back to talk about another episode of the Back to the Future animated series, "A Friend in Deed." This one is a big improvement on yesterday's episode AND we finally meet a missing link in the long line of Tannen's that I've been curious about for years. Some might say decades....

It's Time for Mr. Wisdom!" and I am really happy, because it's over and I never have to watch it again. What a way to advertise a podcast episode!

I also talk about the new opening for this 2nd season and the bonkers fact that this is actually a multi-time Emmy winner. And Shamrock Shakes. I talk about those too....

Today I watched the season 1 finale of the Back to the Future Animated Series, "Clara's Folks," and I'm just going say it - I really enjoyed this episode. Perfect? No. But as a whole, I was into it pretty much the entire way. Don't believe me? Well, listen and find out. Also, get maybe 4 or 5 or 4,000 of your friends to listen to. Hell, send them the YouTube link but don't tell them what it is. C'mon, together we can drive those numbers up one fraudulent view at a time....

Today I watched episode 12 from the first season, "Retired." And - remember how a few days ago I was talking about how this show may have found its stride and had some pretty good episodes? Well, I take that back after this one....Enjoy?
