This week we have Gavin Stone reporting on the trial to determine if North Carolina’s Republican leadership passed a bill with the intent to suppress voter populations. Later, we’ll get into the 52 million dollar deal that the city of Raleigh made to establish a destination park to improve mental health treatment across the state. After, Kevin Kronk talks with university recreation officials to find out about the changes coming to Carmichael.

This week we have a story about how Abdul Malik Abu, a starting forward on the NC State Basketball team, continues to play and practice on the court during Ramadan the Muslim fasting holiday by Zack Tanner. For this edition of Eye on the Triangle we had the team that placed second in the Code+Art Challenge with the music visualizer. So what is it? Code+Art was sponsored by Christie Digital for students to create large-scale data-driven generative artwork. The music visualizer was displayed in Hunt Library and the team had an article published in the CMJ. The team consisted of Cameren Dolecheck, Harrison Wideman, Colin Keesee, Neal Grantham and Dylan Stein.

Ian Grice hosts a revamp of the Poetry Corner with poets Gavin Stone and Nicky Vaught.Ten people were arrested in the General Assembly Legislative Building protesting the Republican-led legislature on May 13.The 36th Raleigh arts festival, Artsplosure, expected to “expose” more than 80,000 people to artwork by art that they normally wouldn’t see. We have an episode with a unique format that we rarely employ: a live discussion. Guests in the studio include NC State student Yvonne, who is WKNC’s own Promotions Director, a volunteer, and an advocate for women’s health rights.
