While performing a self-breast exam, she felt a lump and was diagnosed with Stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) and Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS), as well as Paget's Disease. She underwent treatment at Henry Mayo which included the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center and the Henry Mayo/Keck Medicine of USC Comprehensive Cancer Program. She is the 2023 Breast Cancer Testimonial Speaker.
