Surprise surprise we are discussing two early 90s stars newest albums. The perennially mentioned Liam Gallagher and his first solo album As You Were and Beck’s Colours. Or I guess he probably spells it Colors.

The albums chosen this week have some underlying themes of loneliness – Lorde’s second album Melodrama and St. Vincent’s self titled album from 2014. We chat about guitar shredding, more Oasis reunion talk, and some TV shows we are currently watching.

We get sidetracked by comics at the start of this episode but we eventually discuss two albums that are very similar in a lot of ways – Ellie Goulding’s Halcyon and Tegan & Sara’s Heartthrob. We also decide to give homework to each other.

We are back into the swing of things and for some reason this week we (Colin….) decided to pick the new Katy Perry album. To stick with the pop theme we also discussed Harry Styles’ solo effort.

This week I take Chris into the hip hop world with an album a little out of his wheelhouse. We are listening to ScHoolboy Q’s hard hitting album Oxymoron. Chris brings us something a bit mellower with The Gorillaz Plastic Beach, as we begin our relisten of all things Gorillaz until their new album drops.

We tackle our first soundtrack in this episode with the soundtrack to a movie we both adore – Scott Pilgrim vs the World. We also tackle Number 1 Angel, the newest mixtape/project/album thing from Charli XCX. Don’t worry we have a conversation about what makes it an album or project or mixtape.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs It’s Blitz is an album that is near and dear to Chris’ heart, so we spend some time discussing that along side Colin’s pick this week, the new album from a Canadian rock band Japandroids Near to the Wild Heart of Life.

In this episode we talked about two albums with great album titles: Kid Cudi’s Passion, Pain & Demon Slaying and P.O.S.’ Chill, Dummy. These albums lined up thematically pretty great and led us to a discussion comparing a few things between the two albums.
