He developed a love for many genres of music including hip hop, R&B , funk, classic rock, and country music. Although, while growing up his first love was basketball, he began to use music to express himself as he battled the impoverished gang infested environment that surrounded him. During adolescence 5ive dealt with legal issues and eventually began writing raps to help deal with the anger he felt towards the world. By age 17, 5ive had already recorded numerous remixes to industry classics and a began to record a catalog of original tracks, with heavy influences from Tupac, 50 cent and Lil Wayne. After parting ways with their first label, a car accident and losing loved ones perseverance has become second nature for this New Jersey/Los Angeles based group. However for this group comprised of Elete Wright, Michael Cardigan and Tom Chase the wait is almost over. In 2010 they worked with J.R and PH7 releasing New High 7' through Personal Records from Vienna, Austria and their first EP also alongside J.R and PH7 "My Favourite Demons" through Pro-Keds & Soulspazm in 2012.
