He developed a love for many genres of music including hip hop, R&B , funk, classic rock, and country music. Although, while growing up his first love was basketball, he began to use music to express himself as he battled the impoverished gang infested environment that surrounded him. During adolescence 5ive dealt with legal issues and eventually began writing raps to help deal with the anger he felt towards the world.
