Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest is still kicking along and saw the unveiling of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 (a remastered release for the two classic games) and Epic's first footage of Unreal Engine 5 running on a PlayStation 5. In addition to this Nintendo decided to drop a trailer for Paper Mario: The Origami King out of absolutely nowhere (with a July 17th release date) much to the surprise of everyone and Sony premiered a 18-minute State of Play focusing solely on Ghost of Tsushima. On this week's show Joel and Kyran having spent some time punching people in Streets of Rage 4, Joel has been spending some time running along walls in Ghostrunner, and Kyran has taken a trip back to Sotenbori with Yakuza Kiwami 2. Greetings listeners! Joel has been playing Final Fantasy VII Remake, but unlike Kyran he's spent his first few hours coming at it separated from the heavy nostalgia that Kyran holds for it. We're back with our first episode for the brand new year, we've taken the last few weeks to enjoy some time off and plug away at several games that may have slipped under the radar in 2019 in preparation for our Game of the Year episodes. Nintendo's theme park got a weird but fun music video, new downloadable content is coming to Pokemon Sword and Shield, several big games got delayed (including Cyberpunk after we finished recording), and Sony made the decision to officially skip E3 for a second year in a row. He's been playing three games in particular, Grind Stone, Bleak Sword, and What the Golf plus he also touches on where he stands with his playthrough of Astral Chain. Meanwhile in Dope or Nope it has been a somewhat quiet couple of weeks so we focus on two main topics.Firstly, Bethesda announce a surprisingly pricey subscription for Fallout 76 called "Fallout 1st", it'll set you back about $20 a month and we just don't really understand who it is for.
