A few times now, we have done an actual play episode using the Fate Core TTRPG rules. Before, we played a sci-fi game we called Bears in Space. Anna Meyer joined David, and Erica and they played the Fate Core system, directed by Brian. We had so much fun, we invited Anthony this time. We had to start over and that means a session 0. A session 0 is a game session where instead of playing the game, the players and director discuss the game setting and what characters they will play. Last time, the session 0 was for patrons only. We had a little fun talking about TTRPGs and what we would be if we were characters in a TTRPG. The only rule is that we would be the same people in the game. Other rules were made up arbitrarily.

Game Designer Mike Myler joined David and Super Vegan Brian to talk about Mental Ability Scores in RPGs. In my opinion this conversation took a more organic turn than usual. I was surprised how easy it was to talk about this subject almost like mental ability scores in games are more important than physical ones to promote fun play. Mike, as usual had great insight as a game designer and really helped us crack the nut of what mental ability scores mean in a game. We are all nerds, and with nerdiness comes a lot of vast knowledge over a lot of things, all sorts of pop culture, technology, sports, RPGs, and hobbies. But what about basic skills? What basic skills do we have and where do we feel we are lacking? Erica, David, and Brian tackled this topic and had a lot of fun doing it. An argument started about the existence of Brian luck as well which has yet to be resolved.

D3 and SVB sat down to talk about technology and ended up mostly talking about cars they owned. I have to say that this is one of the most fun episodes we have done. It started with a serious discussion about technology and what we put into it but then we started talking about cars we have owned. I think we cracked each other up more than any other episode.
