Stolas, David, and Brian got spooky in today's episode talking about what creates a scary story. Campfire stories, writing, and especially running a spooky TTRPG. How do you create and sustain tension and get buy-in to the mood you are trying to set?

We had the privilege of having the co-authors of a soon to launch kickstart, Adventures of Teaching and Learning with TTRPGs. It was massive fun learning about how to use role playing games as a teaching and learning tool and puzzled out how this can not only help us to learn about there project but learn how to improve our own games. Erica, Brian and David Technically talked about Tech. There was also a discussion about Westerns but mostly tech... technically.

The Rusty Nail is back! Rusty joined us to talk about what we are watching and reading! With Rusty back, we were very excited. Expect a LOT of tangents in this one. Brian may also rant a couple of times.

Our new friend Koko joined us from all the way in Australia to chat Eldenring, Souls, and other hard video games. We also learned how old we all are for the first time.

We love TTRPGs, whether they be Pathfinder, D&D, Fatecore, etc We love running them and we love playing them but they are a lot of work whether it be reading the material or coming up with plot and encounters. We shared with each other our techniques for prep and some great experiences in the game. Edit: Sorry for the late post. Audacity upgraded and was causing crashing during editing.

A few episodes ago we had some guests from the CasualCraft server, the Minecraft server that Brian plays on. This led to members from opposite time zones to us wanting to be on. So we had Rophelle and Kokorodaki from Australia, and JumboSale, our server admin from Singapore on to join us in some more Minecraft discussions. Paulbo Baggins who joined us last time also popped on. So much fun!

A pre-episode chat made us quickly change our topic when the knowledge that some people don't have hobbies became known to us. Is that wrong? Is it weird? What do people do when they don't have stuff to do? Is it possible to be interested in nothing? We talk about it.

Summer is the time for Vacations and Brian just got back from one so we talked about that and what that means to us nerds.

We were joined by several members of the Minecraft SMP that Brian plays on and we all told stories about Minecraft and the SMP. A big thank you to Lola, Kija, and Paulbo for joining us.

Brian was interested in the hot ones challenge after seeing the Hermitcraft youtubers do it so he tried it while answering hot questions while eating hotter...chips.

Yet another episode where Brian asks someone else to host. This is the kind of topic that happens when Erica is in control. We get paranormal stories and arguments over the existence of spirits. Perfect episode. Erica has a new job.

David and Brian found themselves as a duo for the first time in a long time and for the first time in a long time we dredged up an old topic and talked about hobbies. I think our opinions on hobbies has changed a lot as we've gotten older. It's like everything we do from the outside can be viewed as a hobby but we just don't feel that way.

Usually what we do is plan a topic or agree on a topic before an episode. Sometimes this doesn't happen and we either have to compromise or come up with something new. This is a time when a consensus could not be reached before recording time.

Fantasy Cartographer, Anna Meyer, joined us to discuss networking in nerd circles. How to make friends and connections whether it be in gaming, or other nerdy interests. This episode was inspired by how we all met and really made me think about all the different people I've met in my nerdy adventures. A big thank you for Anna joining us last minute on this one.

Super Vegan Brian here and I'm introducing this episode a little differently. I have to say this is one of my favorite episodes we have ever recorded. Funny enough, due to technical issues, this episode was almost lost but it was saved. I have to say, I had so much passion in my discussion of rules in games that I am overwhelmingly overjoyed that we were able to save this episode. We talked about rules. Rules in games whether they be board games or tabletop role playing games. I had tons of fun recording this and I am incredibly happy that I am able to share it with you.

Our very own patron and friend of the show Kija joined us to talk about fandoms and how we interact with. Brian also bullied David about Minecraft and we all learned a lot about Finland.

We're back for 2024! After having a nice holiday break, David and Brian returned to have a fantastic chat about holidays and holiday traditions.
