Carley Coma of Candiria
07/02/2017 Duración: 01h17minChapter 92: "Let The Song Write Itself" ...as read by Carley Coma of Candiria (Recorded on Monday January 23, 2017) Carley Coma, lead vocalist of Candiria has done a lot of podcasts lately. We tried something a little different. Candirias' new album "While They Were Sleeping" is an outrageous concept album that had been birthed from Carleys' perspective of 9/11, people on their phones at the train station, Ferguson, a vision of the Empire State Building and inspiration from Brooklyns' largest library. I wanted to go track for track and have him walk me through it. So here it is, the podcast companion to the new Candiria album straight from the man who dreamed it up. Thank you Carley for dragging your weary behind to task and having this conversation. This podcast makes me want to do more of these. Enjoy...and BUY THIS AMAZING ALBUM! Gene Hoglan the Atomic Clock
29/01/2017 Duración: 01h31minChapter 91: "Driving The Truck" ...as read by Gene Hoglan of Testament, Strapping Young Lad, Death, Dethklok, Dark Angel and on and on. (Recorded Tuesday January 24, 2017) This just keeps getting better. I am joined by now-legendary drummer Gene Hoglan for this next chapter. If you're into metal then I'm willing to bet that not only have you heard Gene play drums before but probably own a few albums that he is on. Gene has played with Dark Angel, Devin Townsend, Strapping Young Lad, Death, Fear Factory, Dethklok , now currently working with Testament and he was even a guest vocalist on Slayer's "Show No Mercy". He has appeared live with Opeth, Anthrax and Unearth under what can be considered "emergency circumstances." Nothing rattles this guy. Gene and I discuss his trip to NAMM, his earliest induction into the scene through his older sister, pulling off the interstate to pick up music so he could learn it on the way to the gig, his tremendous effort committed to weight loss,

Daryl Rabidoux of Cancer Conspiracy (Part Two)
23/01/2017 Duración: 01h25minChapter 90: "(Omega)" ...as read by Daryl Rabidoux of Cancer Conspiracy and Radar Studio (Recorded on January 6th, 2017) Let's see...where were we? Here is part two of my discussion with Daryl Rabidoux. You should really listen to the first one before this one, but whatever. Good times are to be had either way. We discuss the "lost" Cancer Conspiracy Omega, the theft that kinda began the ending for Cancer Conspiracy, working with Will Benoit at Radar Studio http://theradarstudio.com , gear nerdy and building equipment, speed doctoring? That's a thing?, Club 242 and being started by none other than Bernie Sanders, getting a note from his parents to get out of school to tour, the almighty Rocketsled and how the vinyl bug bit at a very young age. Enjoy. Ok this was a beast to edit. If you wanna watch us have the ENTIRE discussion with close to an hour of extra discussion, hustle that bustle over to my youtubicles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03BKIK0VOyc Chapter 90 Music: Cancer Conspir

Daryl Rabidoux of Cancer Conspiracy (Part One)
13/01/2017 Duración: 01h04minChapter 89: "The Audio Medium (Alpha)" ...as read by Daryl Rabidoux of Cancer Conspiracy and Radar Studio (Recorded on January 6th, 2017) In the early 2000s I heard an album that changed my life. A small band called Cancer Conspiracy put out a full-length on Big Wheel called "The Audio Medium" and it became one of my favorite albums. I had the pleasure to talk to Daryl Rabidoux who played guitar in Cancer Conspiracy. Daryl and I weave an epic-length story covering his entire timeline. I sliced it in half because it seemed that the first half focused most of its attention to Daryls' beginnings up through The Audio Medium. Enjoy and if you think you'd enjoy Fugazi and Faraquet playing King Crimson I highly recommend you hunt this album down. Special thanks to my son Ben for helping me figure out an ending to part one...stay tuned, and SUBSCRIBE. Jaci is an art director, designer, author, MetalBandCampGiftClub logo creator, all around ass-kicker and she was awesome enough to come on and admit to a few hair bands and tell us a bit about what she does. Then the three of us give our top three releases on 2016 that we think might not be on a lot of lists. Kinda going' off-road with the list. Enjoy. Happy New Year, you lovely scattered few. We get the story behind these crazy band names, the inspirations as to why alone and why now, and details on how to order this digital split and have your proceeds donated to Planned Parenthood. 14/11/2016 Duración: 55minChapter 83: "Sky Beats Gold" ...as read by Marty Lunn of Zao and Young Fox Marty Lunn has been heavily involved in the greater Pittsburgh scene for his entire life. He goes into a lot of detail back in March on the Urban Achiever podcast, but I wanted to hit on a few different things than what he rolled out with Bill. I became friends with Marty because of my relationship with Scott and Zao and we got to spend some quality time in the van between Canada and NY. Marty and I try to cover some of the in-between stuff that he hasn't discussed before...including a lil' hockey. I'm happy to help his band Young Fox with their full length coming "Sky Beats Gold" on Spartan Records in Mid-January! Check out a clip of the song "Sometimes The Monsters Win" at the end of this chapter. Thank you Marty and thank John from Spartan. We discuss how Vaureen formed sort of by accident with her buddy at work. Andrea was an only child growing up in Green Bay so finding heavy music was kinda tough. Jason Wisdom of Death Therapy
30/10/2016 Duración: 59minChapter 81: "A Guarenteed Cure " ...as read by Jason Wisdom of Death Therapy Mr. Jason Wisdom, formerly of Becoming The Archetype, has moved on. Most folks join a new band or perhaps start a new one. Nope. Jason started a solo project. By himself. Nothing but bass. Decisions no longer fall on a group of people they fall on one...in a 99' Suburban...but NOT in red tank tops. We got some big news in here: Andrew Schwab of Project 86 is a guest vocalist on the upcoming album, Jason has signed Death Therapy with Solid State and the album should be coming out in February. There we go. You heard it here. Jason has gotten this thing off the ground and is now touring with Project 86. It's a honor that he let some cats out of some bags here. Thanks, buddy! Oh, there's also a never before heard demo of Becoming The Archetypes' "Epoch Of War" that was recorded in my house in 2006. No big deal. Wink. Ok...he's on Facebook so he wasn't exactly hiding. Anyways I am joined by guest host Bruce of Living Sacrifice to speak to the legendary Doug Mann who founded R.E.X Music just after his time in the Coast Guard with $1,200, preceding Tooth And Nail by around seven years. Doug has decided this is his first, last and only interview that he will do concerning R.E.X. so I thank him for letting it unfold on my show. However, as you will hear...it isn't bad blood. I think there was more mystery and drama surrounding it then it deserved. Either way, THIS is the place to hear it and thank you Doug for taking the time. Really fun conversation; Bruce and Doug just run off and hijack the first half! Great Psychoboy studio story. This was a long one so we're gonna split this one in half. Bruce had to leave halfway through so next week there's no guest host...it's jus

Eric was nice enough to sit down having just moved into a new home and wasn't even unpacked yet to keep his commitment to this podcast. The Novelists are a beautiful find from a friend who recommended I listen to their cover of "Africa" by Toto...but once I got started I couldn't stop. I am excited to hopefully introduce this Reno, Nevada gem to those who have never heard of them. We take our time and showcase a lot of music from their new album "Breaking The Script" throughout the entire conversation. Eric discusses his friendship with legendary Genesis guitarist Darryl Stuermer, what he learned from watching Billy Joel master classes and performing in Cowboy Stadium versus playing in a living room. It isn't always heavy stuff here at ATSG headquarters and The Novelists are proof as to how good it can get. Chapter 77 Links: The No
